Overview. As the Lead Designer responsible for the rapid migration of Instructor-Led Training (ILT) content to eLearning, it was essential to develop standards and guidelines for successfully collaborating with a global team of stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and developers to create effective and engaging eLearning content.
To enhance this global collaboration, I designed a custom storyboard template that consistently aligns the content fields with those in the Skilljar Learning Management System (LMS). This template included all necessary fields to secure approval and sign-off before course development in the LMS begins.
My contributions. I created the template, established development standards, researched, designed, and developed the content in partnership with SMEs, scheduled and facilitated meetings, and supervised course buildout by the development team to ensure desired goals and outcomes were met.
Design approach. To ensure engagement, this standardized course template included a blend of learning elements including video, text with supporting images, infographics, knowledge checks, additional resources, and hands-on experience.
Results. A template that established a standard course development process, reduced potential communication gaps, and greatly expedited course builds within the Skilljar platform.
For the customer: A multi-modal learning experience designed to appeal to a range of learning types including visual, auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic.
